Boeing loses in $40B Air Force tanker deal

The U.S. Air Force today announced one of the largest military acquisition programs in U.S. history, saying it had chosen Northrop Grumman over Boeing to replace its aging air refueling tanker fleet. Many had expected Boeing to be favored over Northrop Grumman, which will use a European company’s airframe, Airbus, for the tanker.

Human error caused Florida outage

Preliminary results of an investigation show that Tuesday’s massive power outage in Florida was caused by human error, Florida Power and Light President Armando Olivera said Friday.
