I am helping my dad restructure 2 mortgages which are both 2-3 mo’s late. What is the best way to do this? He tried himself in the past, but feels now that he is late, it is best to let a professional handle and negotiate for him. However, the co’s all seem to charge fees upfront. He seems to think this is OK, however i am cautious. Does anyone know of a good site or co? Should we call a mortgage broker? Thanks for any advice.

I’ve been having many issues with the lender I choose to do my mortgage. I am considering getting an lender to do the mortgage before the first lender gives me a final acceptance or denial. Am I obligated to complete the first mortgage if the first lender approves? The loan is currently in underwriting.

I’ve been hearing a lot about the “benefits” of interest only mortgages, but I’m not 100% convinced that this is the way to go. They say that people should get interest only loans and put the remainder of what you would normally pay (on the mortgage) in some type of investment. Should you use your mortgage like this, or should you pay the mortgage off quickly???
