Our house is for sale and we want to start looking for a new one. I know 1st time buyers should get a mortgage pre-approval before looking at houses, But if this isn’t our 1st house, how necessary is it for us to get one?

isn’t mortgage insurance for if you die, the loan will be paid off? if so wouldn’t life insurance do the same, so why is mortgage insurance needed. Must you have it or is it just a option?

If you provide the mortgage company with all the requested info do they typically follow up on that. Does it vary from company to company or is it a common practice for them to execute the 4506t form. Also, has anyone everheard of first choice mortgage in charlotte? Any thoughts on them?

I dont understand what the mortgage lenders issue is, the house has stood since 1950ish!! there is one wall that is single brick, i have had to get a quote to make the wall double brick! is it just me or are they being petty?
