I could not have believed my ears. The remake of wacko jacko's song was pitiful. whycelffed jean proved you can't take the money out of the Hatians. He sounded almost as bad as Yoko Ono on a good day with his tribal riffs.  The rest where pathetic and no one came close to the originals except for Wacko but he's dead    huh!

Dog ‘hitches ride’ in NM, meets owner in Louisiana

Stephan Soleas came to New Orleans for a few weeks of visits and music. He said his 6-year-old Labrador mix, Charlie, went missing days after he left.   Charlie was found by a couple vacationing in Taos. The couple saw a collarless dog and tried to find its owner, but the veterinarian didn't have a microchip scanner.   The couple gave up their airline tickets, rented a car and made the 3-day drive back to New Orleans with the dog. Incidentally, they also named the dog Charlie.   Soleas and Charlie were reunited 10 days later — Feb. 5 — when Magazine Street Animal Clinic co-owner Teresa Gernon checked a microchip in the white dog's neck. Two days later, they were in the Krewe of Barkus pet parade.

Is Rock N Roll dead?

I say it died when the Spice Girls and boy bands along with Mtv's TRL put the final nail in the coffin of what was left of "grunge".    Rock music today is more about winning a singing contest and corporations creating "rock bands". It used to be from the garage to the club scene to hopefully a record exec likes your sound and signs you to a record deal. Remember singers, actual songwriters, playing actual instruments?   We passed the torch from the Beatles, Stones, Zep, to punk rock, to hair rock, to grunge to.....what? Chris flippin Daughtrey? Really? I could go on for days on this, but I would like to hear from some fellow Rock n Roll fans out there.

Keep your Fingers Crossed

I'm meeting with a rescue group.  They have a three year old male pug.  He's a bit overweight (aren't we all) and I'm so excited I can hardly stand it.  I've missed having a snuffling, farting snorting companion constantly by my side since my Doug died last summer.

3-legged dog wins 1st place in NYC shelter contest

There is a pic of him at the link:   http://www.seattlepi.com/national/1120ap_us_odd_shelter_dog_show.html?source=mypi   A three-legged pitbull mix that played in a game of doggie baseball has won "Best in Show" at a talent competition held by one of New York City's largest animal shelters.   Nine dogs competed in Friday's contest at the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. But it was Prince who impressed the judging panel the most with his feat of catching three baseballs.   The nearly 2-year-old dog lost one of his legs and had a pin inserted in another after being struck by a car.   The ASPCA's senior vice president of the adoption center says Prince's disability doesn't hold him back.   Gail Buchwald says he "struts his stuff like a winner."

Already lost this year – in passing

just so those who wish to know - two passings this year already. Richard Delvy, drummer for "the Bel-Aires" a very early surf band in the sixties, who also founded "the Challengers" died last week, and also Doug Fieger, singer for "The Knack'" - (my sharona) died also. RIP to both, thanks for the memories.
